I just received a call from Dylan at Amazon (Dylan was working with me on all my Paperwhite replacements). It was a follow-up call which had nothing to do with my refund. I told him about the refund and he said he will take care of it on Monday.
Since I still have screen issues I'm not happy with (though I'm used to them now), he offered me a $30 Gift Card and I still have the option to replace or refund my PW within the one year warranty.
I feel better about the whole situation now.
