There are other options to a Static WAN address: DynDNS or similar can help. My SoHO level Netgear router can even handle that usage on its own, so No PC involved.
If you have a nice (regional) ISP like Sonic.net (plug ), they don't charge an arm and a leg for static IP . Check out your ISP options
