Dolf Lundgren made me think of Rutger Hauer. He's a little short, but a young Rutger might have made a good Reacher.

I just read an article about "Reacher" and they said that Child had no casting approval but was involved in the discussion about who would portray Reacher. To me it sounds like the studio wanted the "star power" of someone like Cruise regardless of whether he fit the part.

I think Jason Statham, while a bit shorter, could have made a pretty good Reacher, but apparently the studio must have thought he didn't have the drawing power of Cruise.
