I took a word doc which has styling, converted to a web page ( filtered )

Opened in Calibre
added the cover image

Calibre converted, kept the styling, colors of the font but I notice that there are some large spaces inbetween certain paragraphs which need not be there. Looking at the final .mobi in The Kindle Previewer and a Kindle Fire shows pages which can easily hold 4 paragraphs just displaying one.

If I look in the html ( webpage) in word there are just regular spacing where they appear large in the mobi.

Is there a way to edit out the spaces?
