As unkempt as I envision Reacher, I do not think even he looks as unkempt as Statham. The other problem is that Statham's acting abilities are equal to those of Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren were the twoi combined into Sylvester Lundgren.
Why not Jean Claude Van Damme (spelling?)? They could dub his voice to get rid of the accent. Maybe we should ask Dan Ackroyd. Doesn't he have the size?
As for the sequel, if you really don't want Cruise in the sequel, we could always demand they use Danny DeVito to play an elderly Reacher.
And if cool is what is wanted, why not bring in the Fonz to star as Reacher?
