Sounds like my horror story
cghipp's story sounds a lot like mine, only mine's gone further.
My first glo worked well for a week or two before doing the exact same things as cghipp's. I tried every reset/update combination I could think of, except creating a new Kobo account.
I eventually returned my Glo for a new one, which worked perfectly until another 3 or so weeks after I got it.
As it stands, I can't exactly update it, because it keeps freezing while downloading the update. If I leave it connected to my computer it sort of works at all. If I disconnect it, I cannot get any life signs whatsoever. And this thing is plugged in MOST of the time.
My current theories about this issue are:
1) My iPhone USB charger's somehow damaged the Glo, in which case any weird behaviour is kind of fair game
2) Something with my (fairly massive and ancient) Kobo account is tripping it up.
I'm going to try creating a new Kobo account and the manual update methods. Hopefully it's one of those.
I've been a long time fan of Kobo, but these experiences are taking a toll. My roommate also has a Glo, he reads on it constantly, never has a problem. But his account is new AND he only charges it via his computer. I'm kind of jealous.
