I have completed the uninstall as suggested. My Arc is now in accounts and sync mode with Kobo, after it dowloaded the Kobo software.
I'm not sure how long this sync will take(?) so I am now plugged into a wall socket....................
The sync is complete but if I go to my library and try to open the book I am reading it comes up with a message "unfortunately Kobo has stopped" yet the little arrows at the bottem left of the screen have gone and sync is complete!
Not sure how to proceed now as I am unble to read my books at the moment?
