I think lock was a bad choice of words on my part. I think they've done well for customers by opening up the formats they support. I think they'd do well to give customers a reason to regularly use their store like Amazon has, not force them to use it. There are other ways to buy books for a Kindle but Amazon has made it really attractive to use their store through convenience. Apple did that with iTunes, as well. It's not your only choice but it's an easy choice. If Sony wants to stay in content, then they need to give people a good reason to use their store rather than someone else's.
