Apple Maps Branded Dangerous by (Australian) Police
"Posted by Manzar Chaudhury on December 11, 2012
"Much criticism has been made of Apple Maps since its launch in September due to irregularities and incorrect information, but now the Australian police are warning drivers not to use it.
Apple Maps became a rival to Google in September when they launched the iOS6 software that could be used on the iPhone and iPad. However critics were quick to point out that place names were misspelled and important locations such as train stations were in the wrong place.
Apple CEO Tim Cook promised users that the software would be updated and fixed but it looks as though the problems are continuing. Australia Police have now contacted Apple after concerns that people using Apple Maps to navigate could find themselves in life threatening situations."
