From your description, it's not entirely clear which state your Kindle is currently in (like: does it even show up as (any kind of) a device after boot?).
But it sure looks like it's in a state where it's not willing to boot anything to get itself together again, so yes - it just seems to be bricked for good. Just return it to Amazon, and have them figure it out.
