Thanks for this link. I tried the no-coding method but didn't find neither "KoboRoot.tgz" nor "manifest.md5sum", and no folder "upgrade" in ".kobo\" folder. I extracted and pasted, however, the upgrade files from .zip. And yes, kobo updated but result is the same I had before.
I guess I will have to go back to the factory defaults.
