I'm not sure why, but a lot of the scifi books I picked up this year I ended up not liking; I'm not sure if that's due to my own changing tastes or just my selection process. I think the book I liked the least this year was In the Mouth of the Whale, with my favourite book being the non-fiction The Better Angels of Our Nature.
