It's not meant to be "Ouch". I specifically chose the arguably neutral terms "anachronistic, unconventional, erratic or démodé" rather than used explicitly negative terms to emphasise the disagreement and the subjectivity (and potential redundancy outside of the personal) of the reaction.

It is meant as a defusing of the purported "argument".
