I'm hitting that limit too and would like to ask whether you plan to remove it at some point?

PS: A bit of background how I (mis)use catalogs: the Kindle has a design problem: one can not just search titles and authors. Searches are done on everything on the Kindle! This is very bad if you have many books. On my Kindle it freezes up every time. Thus I generate catalogs and search inside of those (which is possible).
