I see a 'snap' like behavior, where it takes up a column of space and he can only determine one dimension. I'd prefer to put a window in this quadrant, another over there in that quadrant, etc.

Maybe I want two windows from the same program, like Excel sheets, but across multiple monitors. I've not tried these things, but the design philosophy seems to be to keep everything quarantined in their own program, with limits on how they display on screen.
