I use m92 + scribble function (in annotation menu) on pdfs and it works very well when I want to do margin notes and other annotations. There's a merge pdf button which produces a second copy of the pdf containing the scribbles--this can be emailed without any problems. I don't have the issue mentioned here regarding certain kinds of lines not registering. My handwritten annotations are saved and I have even emailed the merged file to others who have opened it.
