Dear Zelda and Dale and all:

I have been staying mute for a while until things shook out a bit. The problem has been one of minimum orders. The factory wants a firm commitment for 10,000 units to get the low price, and ...while I think we will hit that... we cannot bank on that amount sold.

They still require a commitment on the 6 inch also... but we feel better about the 6 inch selling to the sufficient quantity. Also, we picked up a partner and they also wanted some design input. The formatting for eReader was not finished anyway so we redesigned the button layout.

It still has the rotary wheel but it is now in the bottom center. Additional buttons will be placed to the left and right of the rotary wheel for "Menu" and "Bookshelf". There will also be one button on the left bezel and one on the right bezel. These are for "page advance" and "page back". The unit will remain at 6.5 ounces and remain at .35 inch in thickness. The 6 inch will remain the lightest and thinnest and easiest to hold eBook Reader ever introduced.

It seems I email to Adobe DAILY trying to get an SDK for Digital Additions. It is perplexing how large firms ignore emails for weeks and make only token commitments on timeline when they do respond (no ill will intended). The unit will have a rudimentary .pdf on it (in addition to eReader on the Mentor and Mobipocket on the LiteBook) in any case... but we would very much like the best... seen as Digital Editions.

I am sorry for the delay. Frankly, it irritates me something fierce; but the reasons are sound. The six inch will release in September, with the 5 inch (as Dale said) not too far behind, once we get the final design for that size done.

Prices remain about where we planned; but I am staying off the pricing issue until I see it in writing. We realize, as Dale has said, PRICE is what is drawing the interest to our devices.

The 9.7 is still proceeding; but is still waiting for the final testing of the Flex Screen!
