A bit of history on my search for a reader.....I started out trying the Kindle. I liked it, but was having a hard time justifying the price to myself. So I tried the eBookwise 1150. The unit I got had a battery issue, which was just as well since I didn't really like the screen. Next I tried the Sony PRS-505. I liked it, but found myself really missing things about the Kindle. So.....I'm waiting for my new Kindle #2 to arrive now.

I thought many of the same things as PsyDocJoanne did about the Kindle at first, but I have to agree with DesertGrandma....give it a few days. I read the Kindle "naked" too, and I feel it's shaped just right for that. I tried reading the Sony without the cover, and was afraid I would drop it because it was so slick! The Sony shows fingerprints on the case, the Kindle doesn't. But mostly, I missed all the features like search, dictionary, wikipedia, and the 6 font sizes.

Heck, that's why they make different devices to choose from, we all have different wants and needs, right?
