Anybody ever tried dye on something like these to get the color they wanted?

Those Gecko covers look a lot like the Speck cases, only better with a magnetic closure rather than the bungee cord on the Specks. OTOH, my guess is it'd take a lot more force to snap the bungee than pop open the magnetic in a drop...

The slim cases look really nice because they help retain the lines and shape of the original device, but I bet the "fatter" covers do a much better job of absorbing any impacts. The nice thing about the Specks is that they employ a polycarbonate or ABS shell and are probably pretty tough despite being slimmer, if not SLIM. The ones from Gecko look pretty similar, maybe even a little nicer.
