My point is it is already at version 10.x so you have had it since you got your iDevice. Whenever they update is really not as important as how well the update works. Like you and Jessica I rarely plug my iDevices into iTunes as quite frankly iTunes has always been sluggish and has a very poor interface. I basically use it to transfer side loaded books and get software updates.
