Ditto, but it is still essential. Try setting up your new device without it! It is also needed to sync my iPod Classic. My point is that if your expensive hardware purchase is dependent on the software, then I don't consider it truly freeware. If I didn't need it for the hardware then I would most definitely not have it installed. I use J.River Media Center for my music library.
