"I don't have any piece of clothing with any pocket I could possibly fit a 7" device into. The only exception being cargo pants and it is extremely uncomfortable to have even a 5" device in the lower pocket when walking. And 5.5" is the absolute limit for the pockets on regular pants or jeans. Remember, you have to move and sit down with the device inside."

Well I guess its down to your personal Clothing & lifestyle choices then
I am a Five foot ten inch former competitive bodybuilder who, at age 49, stays in shape and still weighs about 205 pounds.
I am self employed/semi retired and dont even own a "business suit"
I do often wear one of those "photographers Safari vests" with all the utility pockets and "live" in cargo pants/shorts.
and all of Fall/Winter jackets have pockets that easily accommodate a 7 inch kindle fire.
a 10 inch or more device would force me to use some manner shoulder bag or backpack
which I Did for years with my 13 inch laptop.
for Me 7 inches is the sweet spot
but your YMMV.
