If I'm thinking what your thinking, you should probably call Apple and get them to send you the OS disc. I had to do this recently to upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard, since they don't carry the older OS discs in the Apple store online anymore. Make sure you backup everything on your laptop just in case something goes wrong with installation and you have to restore everything after.
