Undoubtedly. If you live in the US it's probably technically illegal to remove DRM even for your own use. In Norway it is legal* to remove DRM for your own use, but I think I would have removed DRM as a matter of course in any case.
* It has not been tested in court for ebooks, but similar cases for DVD and CD media has been. Big content deliberately backed out before those cases ended in our supreme court, so sadly we have no "proper" legal precedence.
