A (write) Lock is a good idea as it keeps 2 people (sessions) from making changes to the same object.
Some programs offer to open a locked file in read only mode (I wish Sigil could do this). Opening a second instance is useful for side-by-side reference/copying , but it is possible to get confused as wich is the one under edit ( )
