Rambling follows (mint filesystem issues) --

You might have to set up "shared directories" (something like that) to be able to interact with the windows FS outside VBs virtual filesystem. If doing it that way it might also have to be a FS that linux can write to; I don't recall NTFS being writable by linux. Maybe VB xlates that on the fly. Maybe set up a windows share (SMB/CIFS, whatever it is) for that dir and then mount that share in the VB instance?
