Happens occasionally to me - when it does I fix it immediately by hand. Otherwise when I save my edits they will be saved to the old folder and at some stage I be left doing this

I'd rather calibre pop the message at the start and leave things as is. But there may be factors that preclude that - such as the difference in the behaviour of the target operating systems.

I seem to recall this being fixed for GUI editing, but not in the edit metadata window a couple of years ago.
