Oh, I'm not exploring the book exclusively for eBook production. Actually, I thought making eBooks would be a fantastic complementary experience to Web Design and new digital platforms, which is what I got the book for.
I'm trying to immerse myself completely in all things code, otherwise I won't be able to shake the print-preconceptions that I'm carrying.
Bit of a tangent: It SHOULD have been an incredibly frustrating and disheartening experience to find out that the InDesign-to-epub process is full of holes and leaves much undone. It seems to be for a lot of people, anyways. Instead, I was extremely glad to find a LOT of online help, within communities such as these were the remaining steps can be taken with guidance on pretty much every aspect of the eBook process, and code, in general.
Anyhow, back on topic...and with new questions:
Is the option to create an inline/HTML TOC still in Sigil? there is no "button" for it, contrary to what the manual says.
Most importantly...does the .mobi format require this?
I tried an alternative and used KindleGen to create my Kindle eBook. Good news is, there is a TOC, exactly as I wanted it. Bad news is it's not "inline", according to the Kindle previewer. What does this actually mean?
