So there I was.
I've posted a few times about my quest for just the right E-Reader, about how I dumped the Nook ST for the Sony PRS T1, about how I came crawling back, and begged it for forgiveness. I might have the new tech-toy syndrome, but it's never been proven.
So what about today? The Nook ST worked with me for a while, but I think we grew apart. So I gifted it to my wife's friend, and took another chance at the Sony PRS T1.
Oh, what times we've had. I found that if you lump books in series in Calibre those series tags become collections in the Sony. Who knew? I wasted weeks renaming the authors to match how I thought the Sony Reader wanted them, and the answer was a simple Series tag. Can you say "Send to Storage Card A?"
Because of this 402 shelves now exist to keep my 3000 plus books organized. It's all I ever wanted. With natural sounds in the music player like woods and waterfalls I have the perfect reading experience. I should have been happy.
But then the T2 came out, and suddenly the grass is greener on the other side of the fence-AGAIN! I don't really care about Evernote or facebook features, or whatever, but the screen is definitely clearer than the previous year's model. It's also loads quicker, and doesn't flash on every single page. I got one and stuck my SD card from the other reader into it, and in an instant I had all 402 collections on the new one without any problems.
Now I'm torn between the two. I know the new model is a complete ripoff since it's essentially the last year model with updated software, and no MP3 capability. And I know I got suckered into it because I'm an E-Ink Reader junkie, but with the jump up to two month battery life it seemed almost worth it.
I'm debating on which one to stick with. And hint-they still don't know about each other. I've tried juggling between the two but that only works in the movies.
