I have no reason to try currently, but I thought that was the current state of calibre. Aren't metadata download jobs currently handed off to the Job queue in lots of 100. I thought that if you trird to download metadata for 600 books at one time then 6 jobs are queued up of 100 books each job. It has been a while since I tried it so I could be misremembering things.

What happens when you try this?
