I have not upgraded to the new sony firmware, but I have just now installed the Universal Firmware tweaks. The battery life on my 505 after 30+ charges is not that good. I can go about 1 week per charge, which is only about 250 +/- pages.
I stopped using a flash card about three weeks ago thinking that battery life would improve, but it has not improved by that much. All of my current loaded e-books are only in LRF format and average about 500 pages. I only have about 70 books on the reader at this time.
I just now found out that there are at least two v1 firmwares:
1.0.00.08130
1.1.00.18040
My firmware is currently at 1.0.00.08130. I'm starting to wonder now if the difference between users with positive experiences regarding battery life vs. negative experiences is due to the two different 1.x firmwares and possibly the universal flasher mod.
Does anyone have any feedback on version 2 firmware battery life? There is very limited documented results on battery life under the v2 firmware.
