I don't, and in my previous post I mentioned that speculation can really get us nowhere since we were not engineers on the PRS project, I am merely trying, by stating the obvious fact that the 500 is different than the 505, to say that asking for the same firmware update on the 500 is naive and I can't see where the anger towards Sony is coming from. They still have plenty of time to release updates for the 500 (and hopefully they will) but at any rate I think we can say that even if they can support some of these features on it, they wouldn't be able to simply drag and drop them from the 505 update, it will take some time. Rather than storming off in a rage and going to another big company that will act the same way or a little company that will go out of business, constructive criticisms and helpful requests should be made.
I do understand the sense of disappointment in their business methods and how they treat their customers in general, but I thought that everybody long got over the fact that large companies do things the way that suits them. They're not white knights, they're robber barons.
I've had plenty of dislike for Sony for things like refusing to put anything but memory stick slots in their products (though they have, obviously, changed that at least on the reader) and other consumer unfriendly practices, and I'm not saying that people should be entirely quiet and complacent under the reign of this treatment, but it is counter intuitive to declare that you are "done" with one of the largest consumer electronics companies in the world over such a relatively minor incident as this.
