But what did one learn growing up? Are you hoping that what was taught is what was learned? Or that what was (theoretically) taught was what benefits society as a whole?
Maybe it is what was learned growing up, and might that have been the peer pressure mentioned before? And might that not always be what "polite society" would deem beneficial or advantageous?
