Ahhhh, okay. Go to the Mozilla Add-ons site and install the Stylish add-on.

Then go to the UserStyles site, and install the Ad-blocking FiltersetP style in Stylish.

Stylish lets you run custom CSS on arbitrary pages, sites, domains, or globally in Firefox/Thunderbird. FiltersetP is custom CSS (also used in the AdBlock Plus add-on) that defines elements that are ads and tells FF not to render them.

Then go back and have another look at the animated emoticon.
