Yes Marc, that Melanie (last name: Safka.) She did explain that she wrote Brand New Key when she was 16 and has been singing it for over 40 years now. It was her opening number.

Edwards was himself (I have seen him many times as he played clubs in this area for many years many years ago), Badfinger was a bore, the Turtles are always fun and were in great voice, it has been 39 years since I heard Jack Bruce and it sounded like yesterday (although the guitar was not Clapton this time), and Eric Burdon was the highlight of the evening (and the show closer.)
