If you can't get MobiPocket Reader for your iLiad, another option is to strip any DRM using mobidedrm and then use FBReader to read your MOBI files. Even after stripping the encryption, FBReader won't work when the file uses "high compression". The work around for this is to use Calibre's mobi2oeb (which does work on DRM-free MOBIs with high compression), and then read the OEB ebook using FBReader on the iLiad. This approach does not allow dictionary lookup though.

I use FBReader version 0.8.4 on the iLiad for almost all my ebook reading. The newer version, 0.8.14, is better integrated into contentlister, if you don't mind the lack of icons and less access to FBReader's customization options.

CORRECTION: The Chinese iLiad can't load 3rd party applications and so FBReader won't work.
