I had my first K3 replaced after dropping it from Amazon, too, though it was still under warranty.
Frankly, I'd recommend just purchasing one off Craigslist and not paying until you have a chance to see the device (as well as verify the owner de-registered it). That's how I sold mine, and both I and the purchaser were very pleased with the outcome.
