Ok.....I couldn't stand it. I went to manybooks.net and successfully converted a .mobi ebook!!

Why not try the excellent .prc ebooks (to convert) here in the Mobileread.com upload forum. The Manybooks.net are 'straight' conversions (usually from text not html) and don't look nearly as nice as the hand-crafted ebooks here.
