The Kobo touch is per si the novelty.
Well, I don't know what the policies are in Portugal, but I would guess that in some places a whole lot of devices would be returned/exchanged when the new devices were released--assuming the new ones do come to Portugal in a couple of weeks.

The launch schedule (and/or the website content) may have been a FNAC decision, rather than Kobo's.

FWIW, whenever a new product is announced--even if people lightly following tech probably ran into a discussion of new hardware to come--there are always outcries from folks who feel ripped off because they bought the older ones. My cell phone contract is up and I am looking at a Note. There isn't a hint about the new version being available very soon on my provider's website.

It's always a lousy situation to be caught up in this sort of thing. Feels like a gotcha.
