I haven't been active at ebay for quite a while, but I always simply entered the absolute maximum amount that I was really willing to pay, way before the auction ended, and then didn't bother to change it anymore - I simply waited for the outcome. Most of the time it worked - in particular *because* "snipers" don't know what my highest bid really was. And in the cases it didn't work - well, I wasn't willing to pay that much anyway.

That's what I do too. Just punch in my highest bid, and wait to confirm. I'm sure I've been up against some of you on a couple of Kindles (even DX Demos) in the past - and lost most, but I left this one alone for the Geekmaster. There must have been a reason you didn't win this lot - maybe something better around the corner
