Ha! The first thing I thought of was, "he's on Verizon, of course he's getting a raw deal on the OS." Verizon locked down OS's since way back when (anyone else here 'free' their Motorola RAZR from their tyranny back then? Howard's forum FTW!).

But the general complaint is valid. Android has serious pros and cons. It is fractured into so many devices that it becomes a weakness or sore spot. At a minimum, we do have an incentive to buy direct Google-ly devices (e.g. Nexus brand) because they will, eventually, see some OS upgrades.
