Hi,

I have been copying and pasting pages of text from the internet into TextEdit and saving the file in RTF format. Then I use Calibre to convert the file into MOBI, and it seems to work fine -- that is, the preview looks perfect. But then when I move it to my Kindle 4 (not updated to 4.1), I am able to view only the first page. Hitting "next page" skips to about 98 percent with no words on it. I am unable to go back.

The strange thing is that converting the same file to AZW3 comes out perfectly (I have tested it on an updated Kindle.) Now I do not want to update my Kindle because I don't like the other features of the update.

So can anybody help me achieve one of the following solutions?

1) Fix the conversion problem.

2) Find a way to convert to AZW rather than AZW3 - I assume this will work.

3) Find a way to let my Kindle read AZW3 without updating it's other features.

4) Find another way to read the file.

Note: The MOBI file does not show on the updated 4.1 Kindle either.
