Many people pay a lot more for products, and may have to wait weeks if not months for delivery but they don't queue on a public street.
These queued up customers more than likely have a great deal of their self esteem tied up in owning what they perceive to be a status symbol like a special shoe or a front row seat at the game.
I mean by that a large amount of status is really cheap if you can buy it for $600 or so.
What does a Cadillac Escalade cost? I would hang out in Death Valley a couple of weeks with just water bottles and an umbrella to get an Escalade for $600.
They are certainly trying to impress someone even if it is only themselves.
But hey, I wish I had something they would line up to buy.
