I just downloaded the KF8 sample offered by Amazon here:

Loaded it to the K3 with Calibre and it does exactly the same thing: Looks very nice but page numbers are not there any more.

Hmmm!

Just opened a thread in the Kindle subforum to see if others are having the same problem.
