The only advantage to the SD card is that your books are easily transferred if you get another reader, and you won't lose your collection if you're forced to reset your Kobo for whatever reason. I've never had to reset mine, so I've been fine keeping my library stored in the KT's internal memory (and, of course, all my books are also stored on my computer hard drive).
