The T1 was competitive, when it was introduced. It would at least be on the short list of best ebook readers as late as the summer of 2012. Now, the T1/T2 is a mid-range ebook reader and Sony has no high-end competitor to the Amazon PaperWhite, Kobo Glo and the Onyx Boox i62m.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with mid-range ebook readers, but Sony seems to have given up trying to innovate in the ebook market.
