It seems to vary a lot per country. shipping fees seem to vary a lot between carriers too! I checked into shipping a dSLR to UK a few weeks ago and USPS wanted only $45 but UPS/FedEx both wanted $150+. And I think he would have gotten clobbered with import fees on his side of the Pond! Plus if you ship to some countries you have to fill out export/import forms, yuk! Basically it is not worth all the extra effort and hassle, IMO.
