Do what I did: accidentally drop your K-2 on a linoleum-covered concrete floor. That's what did mine in. It should also work for your Sony 505 as well; if not you may try accidentally slinging that one across a parking lot while trying to catch it when it slips out of your hands. But I can't guarantee that method, as the K-2 came through that maneuver as well as a drop on a bare concrete floor with flying colors. It must be something about the linoleum—perhaps it gave it that one extra bounce necessary to finish it off. Mainly just practice the art of being clumsy as I have and you should find yourself with an excuse to take the plunge in no time.
