Error communicating with Device

Using (recently updated) calibre 0.8.68 on WinXP-SP3. My device is a NookColor.
When trying to send a book (either ebup or PDF0 to the memory card, I get he message below:
'NOOK_COLOR' object has no attribute '_carda_prefix'

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 83, in run
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 517, in _upload_books
File "site-packages\calibre\devices\usbms\driver.py", line 256, in upload_books
File "site-packages\calibre\devices\usbms\device.py", line 996, in _sanity_check
AttributeError: 'NOOK_COLOR' object has no attribute '_carda_prefix'

calibre seems to otherwise recognize the Memory card, as I can delete books from it, view the library on the card, and even read books from it. I was also able to copy a PDF (not in the calibre library) to the card via windows.

I power-cycled the Nook, closed and reopened calibre, and still no joy.

Any suggestions?
