I had forgotten just how good Lawrence Block's "Matt Scudder" books were! I'm re-reading "A Dance at the Slaughterhouse," having first read it many years ago when it came out. So long ago that it's as if I've never read it before. I have no idea how he's going to resolve the two different threads he's weaving in this book. Really... a great read!
